A God of discipline From: June Ritchie 03 Dec 2011 (09:18)
Isa. ch. 1 V19-20; \'If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land. But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.\'
Words of warning and authority! Has the Lord changed? When did he decide to \'turn a blind eye\' to all our shortcomings that make our messes?
Preachers can and will preach prosperity comes to all who believe and that seems to hold no factor of a righteous walk! But Isaiah as the mouthpiece of God made things plain right here in the above verses. The danger is to think he spoke them for himself and not for God for then we have license to continue to walk in our own ways and our own understanding. SELF DECEIVED How Satan loves to keep us like that and how we love to spout about God\'s mercy and His beautiful grace the two things that are never ending. The way to prosper is to walk in the way that pleases the Lord God. The way to be fruitful is to live constantly and loyally by the food of His written word. Then we see Psalm 1 fulfilled in our lives. Namely; You shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper; From beginning to end in Psalm one we find all the evidence of prosperity and then we find the warning statement in V4; The ungodly are not so; but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away; Any one of Christ\'s disciples can choose to walk in an ungodly manner disobeying the Lord in things that are important. Choosing to live outside of what the scriptures tell us.
Yet they are there for our guidance they are an essential part of our sALVATION.
Christ\'s blood has saved us to walk with Him and not in any other way.
V6tells us; The Lord knoweth the way of the righteous; but the way of the ungodly shall perish; Is this the truth then that the way of the Lord is to give judgement tempered with mercy when we fail to remain close at His side?
How does a child learn the difference between right and wrong? Through the loving discipline of the parents and if it is lacking the child becomes uncontrollable. There are consequences for ANY disciple who chooses to behave in an ungodly manner or to retain the kind of habits and faults that are really called SIN! Isa. says for God. Wash you and make you clean, put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; He helps us as we obey Him in a loving manner. Turning over a new leaf whenever we fall short is a must. WHY? Because God sees all and His reward is with Him. AMEN

God of disapline 9 sorry for bad spelling )  From: IAN POOLE 19 Dec 2011 (02:06)
Hi june, just been read what you have said. but that was to Israel, today i like paul in romans 8vs38-39. tells us that there is nothing that can or will saperate us from the love of God.
I have looked at and come to the conclussion that my salvation is eternal but it dose not give anyone the right to sin.

and i believe that we as born again bible believeing people are sealed by Jesus himself, for he said to his father in prayer, none of these you have given to me HAVE I LOST.
But the world of faith movment yes I agree with everything you said, they are the false prophets just like jws, mormons, catholic, muslims. ( this may not be the view of everyone on this website) thanks everyone that reads this .

Our Holy Walk  From: TREFLYN JONES 19 Dec 2011 (10:08)
It\'s comfortable to believe that we are safe in our salvation, and that nothing can take it away from us.

I have read and listened to different views on this. I take my confort from God\'s word.

14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

That says it all for me, it tells us what we need to do and the consequesnces of disobeying the command. God\'s grace is evident in the above statement in as much as He says

\"Make every effort\", he wants us to do our best.

We are told to

Philippians 2:12
[ Do Everything Without Grumbling ] Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,

I am taught by a learned brother that the word SALVATION in the above passage is really HOLYNESS.

So we have to work out our own HOLYNESS

There is nothing said about telling other people how to work out their HOLYNESS.

We are sometimes too ready to condemn others becuse their way is not our way. I am all for teaching but not for criticising. Regarding Prosperity ministries, I have nothing against people being prosperous, it\'s what they do with their prosperity that makes us speak out. Is that any of our business, we really should be:-

14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

Thank you June for this posting, you are such a blessing, it\'s good to be able to respond and I always learn from making a reply.

Keep up the GOD work.

seeking God, getting HIS character in us, dying to the \"old man\" being more like HIM every day, and really wanting to be like HIM because we have \"discovered\" HIM, what HE really did for us; coming to this earth, suffering for us to save us, that is love, AND HIS LOVE is eternal, forever, always the same, yesterday, today, forever, that is GRACE! and we are being clothed with HIS righteousness every day, when we walk in LOVE.... we cannot loose our salvation...cause HE DID IT ALL, BUT we can walk away from GRACE! so we must fight the good fight and stand on HIS promises and hold on to our faith in HIM, HIS living WORD, so no one steals our crown....... and in these very last days of great deception, we must stand strong and know HIM more and more, so we dont get swayed by \"every wind\" coming along....and the strong must help the weak, we must love, encourage and help each other along the way......forgetting the past and dont waste so much time talking about it...the future we have, in CHRIST is SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING AND EXCITING! i conclude again, Holiness is seeking GOD and developing HIS character in us.

A God of discipline!  From: maryann 21 Dec 2011 (21:54)
yes, \"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and THEN all these things shall be added to you\"

Not my will, but YOURS be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Kingdom authority!!! which we have when we walk a disciplined life in Christ,

seeking HIS KINGDOM! not the kingdom of the world which is ruled by the devil as long as he has the rule....i think many times we forget that Gods kingdom is another kingdom opposite of this worlds kingdom!!!ACTS 1...talks about Kingdom authorities, not this worlds authorities, not the kings of this world, but the kings of His kingdom. Jesus did not promote the world system to the kingdom of God. We are not to be yoked with this worlds system. We must bind all the wrongs of this worlds system in the authority we have in Christ! The whole world system is corrupt,it is not promoting the kingdom of God, but a secular system. The world hates us because we are in \"God s system\" Jesus said; \"I prayed for them\" , i.e. not the world system, but the ones God gave HIM. I am not praying to take you out of the world, but that you would keep them from them (guard your heart) ----ok this was just a few notes on something i got the other day.......have to study more.......its a neverending chapter...and always exciting....a pity im always so tired at night time.......ps! must be age........but tomorrow is another day...God willing!

Salvation - Holiness  From: June Ritchie 03 Jan 2012 (11:51)
I like that treflyn its a good answer and basically I can see the truth of the statement. all around us there are many Christian folks who get saved but continue to live unholy lives. Walking in Paths of unrighteousness is a foolish way and a sure way to earn justice as sooner or later it has to be dealt with.
Old paths were the same that Israel herself chose and we all know what kind of justice they brought down on their heads. They chose not to fear God and how many are doing the same thing now? and making that same mistake. John Bevere preaches an excellent word on the subject of Fearing God.
We can wear blinkers about what is wrong in our lives and just fail completely to ever get to grips with issues that are vital . simply because their removal from our lives would be painful to us. Where self reigns instead of Christ thats always in evidence. It\'s simply not enough to ask Jesus into one\'s heart yes we gain forgiveness for sin but by full surrender we gain a life change and a holiness we never had before. Jesus wants to enter the heart but as KING of KINGS not just as our Saviour! if we allow that to take place a mighty change can come about. There is a throne in everyone\'s heart, we have to determine to put Him on it and keep Him there completely. not easy but certainly advisable as well as rewarding. We are called to Follow and Obey! Some wish to follow without obeying and others dont wish to either follow or obey. But just to know they are safe. Only extensive reading of the bible can help us to wisdom in our holy walk. Happy New year everyone. June R.
