embarrased to wisdom [reply to pst dean] From: David Dawson 07 Feb 2011 (01:46)
Yes we do need wisdom in choosing our words which is one of the principal [Prov 4v7] tools a Christian can have.
Generation after generation man has become more highly educated, with greater understandings of sciences, technology, communications and astronomy/space than ever before.
Greater knowledge and new discoveries creates greater understanding of philosophies and theories which many men assume it leads to a higher level of god –like wisdom.
Early civilisations such as the Egyptians, Mayan/Aztec Indians etc, were always seeking greater ways to be godlike and posses the wisdom of a supreme being.

In the Bible we have the tower builders in Gen 11v4 and the Greeks in 1Cor1v22, seeking greater knowledge and a higher wisdom.
God is not against intellects, scientists, inventors, or man making new discoveries in outer space or discovering how the human body works, because we are created in His Image.
Instead of mankind thanking God for all His wonders He has created, man has chosen to pat himself on the back and say how wonderful am I, how clever am I, and man became in awe of man. They couldn’t see God the creator of all; they couldn’t see Him when He came upon the earth.
Many deny God‘s existence even with so much evidence to prove there is a God the creator.
Satan has tricked man again by twisting things around. They have theorised the dating of the earth they have theorised evolution. Mans ultimate aim now is dabbling with atomic particle accelerators making them collide with each other to see what happens.
Men are unwisely trying to disprove Gods creation by distorting and trying to re-create mans theory on evolution/ creation.

The bible warns us in Gen 11v4; such people seeking their own wisdom man or worldly wisdom, will be dealt with by God.

No matter how intelligent these scientists and theorists, teachers and promoters they cannot see
He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with [their] eyes, nor understand with [their] heart. John 12v4; Eph 4v18.
And many have failed accepting the preaching of the cross, is to them that perish, is foolishness; 1Cor 1v18
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2Cor 4v4.

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
1:19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
1:21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
1:22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,

1:23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
1:24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
1:25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.[Amp Bible]

There are three wisdoms,
1st].man’s wisdom, without Christ its fleshy 2Cor 1v12
2ndly] worldly wisdom 1Cor 3v19.
3rdly] Gods wisdom Dan2v20; Ps 3v19

The bible clearly states if you’re lacking wisdom, ask!
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. James 1v5

And we need to walk in wisdom to others Col 4v5.

For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: 2Cor 2v15.
Let us all walk in the footsteps of Christ in all our dealings

wisdom grows through God\'s word  From: June Ritchie 05 May 2011 (16:54)
I grew in knowledge and understanding by constant reading of the four gospels but then the Spirit led me into the book of Proverbs I found it both fascinating and a treasure trove of helpful commonsense. And yes the more I spent time in it I found many answers to previously confusing subjects re the Disciple\'s walk. One day after years went by I found I could write a book of Modern Proverbs by the Holy Ghost truly God has put gems of wisdom into His written word. Proverbs as a book is agood path trust Him and walk on it for some daily direction.
