GOD DOES NOT JUDGE BY OUTWARD APPEARANCES... From: Suzi Clucas 15 Oct 2009 (13:04)

GOD LOOKS AT THE HEART. THE BIBLE SAYS THAT \"GOD DOES NOT JUDGE BY MERE OUTWARD APPEARANCES\" AND THAT \"GOD DOES NOT JUDGE AS MAN JUDGES\" (EVEN THOUGH WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO JUDGE ANYWAY).

LET US ALL REMEMBER THAT (ME TOO), ESPECIALLY WHEN NEW PEOPLE COME INTO CHURCH, AND ALSO WHEN WE ARE READING THE NEWSPAPERS AND MAGAZINES, WHICH ARE USUALLY FULL OF LIES ANYWAY.

I KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE BECAUSE A LOCAL NEWSPAPER ONCE STOPPED ME ON THE STREET TO ASK MY OPINION ABOUT AN ON-GOING COURT CASE. WHAT THEY PRINTED WAS HARDLY ANYTHING LIKE WHAT I HAD SAID... SO THERE YOU GO. LET\'S NOT JUDGE.

GOD BLESS.

JUDGEMENT  From: TREFLYN JONES 17 Oct 2009 (15:18)
WHEN WE JUDGE OTHERS WE ARE REALLY LOOKING AT COMPARING WHAT THEY ARE DOING WITH WHAT WE ARE DOING, OR WHAT THEY ARE SAYING AND WHETHER WE AGREE OR DISAGREE WITH WHAT THEY ARE SAYING.

I\'M NOT TRYING TO GET INTO SYMANTICS HERE I\'M JUST TRYING TO CLARIFY WHAT WE MEAN WHEN WE USE THE WORD JUDGING OR JUDGEMENT.

IF YOU SAY THAT A PERSON IS A GOOD PERSON, IS THAT OUR JUDGEMENT? THAT IN MOST PEOPLE\'S EYES WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE BECAUSE WE AREN\'T SAYING ANYTHING BAD AGAINST THEM.

IF WE SAY A PERSON IS A BAD PERSON, IS THAT OUR JUDGEMENT, MOST PEOPLE WOULD SAY SO, BUT IN THIS INSTANCE WE ARE SAYING SOMETHING BAD AGAINST THEM.

IF WE ARE NOT TO JUDGE ANYONE THEN WE MUST NOT SAY THEY ARE GOOD AND NOT SAY THEY ARE BAD!

WHEN WE JUDGE SOMEONE AS BEING BAD, THEN OUR BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS THAT PERSON CHANGES, WE STOP BEING THEIR FRIEND BECAUSE WE DON\'T AGREE WITH WHAT THEY ARE DOING OR SAYING AND THEN WE STOP SHOWING OUR LOVE AND CARE TOWARDS THEM.

SO IF WE DO NOT JUDGE WE MUST REMAIN THE SAME WITH THAT PERSON, IF THEY ARE DOING SOEMTHING BAD, WE MUST CONTINUE TO LOVE THEM AND NOT DO ANYTHING TO MAKE THEM FEEL BAD. IT\'S NOT OUR PLACE TO DO THAT.

SAD THING IS THAT WE ARE NOT LIKE THAT, GOD MAY SEE OUR HEART, BUT OUR MOUTHS GIVE US AWAY TO THE WORLD. A PERSON MAY HOLD A BELIEF REGARDING THE SCRIPTURE THAT DOES NOT ENTIRELY AGREE WITH OURS, SO WE SAY HE/SHE IS WRONG, WE SAY HE/SHE IS NOT READING THE SCRIPTURE PROPERLY. IS THAT JUDGEMENT?

WHAT RIGHT HAVE WE TO ACCUSE OTHERS WHO ARE NOT AGREEING WITH US? DO WE STOP FELLOWSHIPPING WITH THEM, DO WE STOP LOVING AND CARING FOR THEM, DO WE STOP COMMUNICATING WITH THEM?

I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT I LOOK AT MY OWN BEHAVIOUR AND I CAN JUDGE IF I AM DOING WHAT IS RIGHT OR WRONG. IF I AM NOT IN LINE WITH GOD\'S WORD AND JESUS\' WAY THEN I CAN SAY THAT I AM WRONG AND DEAL WITH MYSELF.

IF WE THINK THAT OTHERS ARE WRONG WE SHOULD PRAY FOR THEM. WE SHOULD SHUT OUR MOUTHS, KEEP QUIET, NOT GOSSIP BUT CONTINUE TO LOVE THAT PERSON AS JESUS LOVES US FOR OUR SINFUL WAYS. THAT IS THE HEART THAT GOD IS SEEING.

THANK YOU SUSAN FOR RAISING THIS MATTER.

HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE WE JUDGED AND TURNED OUR BACKS ON BECAUSE OF SOMETHING THEY HAVE SAID OR DONE WHICH WE SAY HAS HURT OR OFFENDED US?

WE SHOULD NOT BEHAVE LIKE THIS, THIS IS NOT THE CHRISTIAN WAY, THE GREATEST GIFT FROM JESUS IS LOVE AND HIS COMMANDMENT WAS THAT WE SHOULD LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

I CAN REMEBER BACK TO THE VALUES OF WHEN I WAS A YOUNG BOY, WE WERE ENCOURAGED TO HELP OLD LADIES ACROSS THE ROAD, GIVE UP OUR SEATS ON BUSES AND TRAINS TO THE ELDERLEY, HELP THOSE IN NEED. THAT IS JUST A SIMPLE WAY TO SHOW OUR LOVE.

SO LET US ALL STOP JUDGING BECAUSE WHAT HAS BEEN SAID DOESN\'T AGREE WITH OUR THINKING AND START LOVING.

John 7:24
Be honest in your judgment and do not decide at a glance (superficially and by appearances); but judge fairly and righteously.
