UNITE!! From: cedric barber 14 Jan 2014 (14:36)
What an amazing evening in the presence of the Holy Spirit we had in Burslem Lighthouse last Saturday (11th Jan). Around 120 folks, young and old(er) packed into the church to praise God and give testimony to the healing and saving power of Jesus in our day!

Praise and worship was led by a Filipino group of young people who thrilled us with their enthusiasm and joy in the Lord!! Following this, three young men testified to the healing and restoring power of Jesus. Each of these men had experienced either life-threatening injury/illness or chronic pain over the last three years. 18 year old Tom Buckett told of how he fell through a glass roof 15 fell onto concrete steps which smashed his skull, sending it a third of the way through his brain. The doctors told his parents to expect him to die. His mum would not accept this and massive prayer was drawn on. Prayer prevailed – Tom lived! Then he was expected to be a ‘cabbage’ for the rest of his life. Prayer prevailed. Then he was expected not to be able to recognise his parents. Prayer prevailed. Then he was not expected to walk. Prayer prevailed. Tom told how, although the surgeons were wonderful, he gave God credit and glory for his healing. In 2012 Tom ran through Stoke-on-Trent with the Olympic Torch!!!

The testimonies from the two other young men were in no way less remarkable. Against all odds they were healed by the power of prayer and the goodness of God. Other testimonies came from the floor and we were just so excited to be the answer to Jesus’ prayer “that they all may be one”. Off the back of this meeting a young man was delivered from a 120mg a day methadone dose the following day! We have a tremendous God who loves us and cares about us.

Our next UNITE event is this Saturday (18th January ) at 7pm at the Glendower Hotel in Lytham St Annes FY8 2NQ. It would be great to meet some of you more northerly TaskJesus folks if you can make it to Lytham! Our guest on Saturday is Peter Gladwin (Out of the Ashes)
