the call to be faithful From: June Ritchie 07 Feb 2013 (12:04)
Plans can be made earnestly and preparations begun but when put into the hands of unfaithful men they can become a disaster to the work of God.
When those kind of things happen they put wounds into the body of Christ and arouse feelings of disunity that shouldn\'t be there. Its a sad fact.
Lets look at the reply of Ahimelech to Sauls accusation.
1 Samuel 22 V14; Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who is so faithful among all thy servants as David, which is the king\'s son in law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is honourable in all thy house?
We find this comment in Proverbs 20 V6; Most men will proclaim their own goodness; but a faithful man who can find?
So not talk but action proves our faithfulness!
V11 says that \'Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure and whether it be right. Comment (So faithfulness has to be seen plainly.)
Proverbs 22 V1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. ( A good name is earned and kept by our continued faithfulness.) n.b. Keep it or lose it by failing God and man.
Proverbs 25 V13; As the cold of the snow in the time of the harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refreshes the soul of his masters. n.b. Evangelism requires faithful men! not men who fall back for any reason. Read such a man described in V19!
Prov. 25 V19; Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint. n. b. A painful thing to suffer.
The call to be faithful is real and lasting it isnt supposed to fade away or falter for any reason especially now in the most darkened days of modern history.
